Integration Support

The Ukrainian Integration Programme at Midleton Family Resource Centre provides dedicated support to individuals and families fleeing the conflict in Ukraine, helping them settle and integrate into life in Ireland. Central to this service is the Integration Support Worker, who offers one-to-one assistance, practical guidance, and advocacy.

The programme supports access to essential services such as healthcare, education, social welfare, and employment.

A strong focus is placed on community integration, with intercultural events, activities, and connections to local groups helping individuals feel safe, included, and engaged.

The programme also promotes independence by explaining rights, entitlements, and available supports, including assistance with applications for medical cards and financial supports.

Collaboration is key, with the service linking closely with local agencies, NGOs, and state bodies such as IPAS to coordinate support and address gaps in services. Volunteer involvement is encouraged and supported as part of integration efforts.

Additionally, the programme monitors and reports incidents of racism or discrimination, ensuring that participants feel supported and protected.

Individuals and families can access the service directly or through referrals from community, education, healthcare, or voluntary organisations.

Overall, the programme provides a holistic, person-centred approach that fosters confidence, independence, and positive integration outcomes for Ukrainian individuals and families in the community.
